A Comment to Treasure

Merritt and I were playing yesterday and she asked me out of the blue, "Mommy, how do I give Jesus my heart?" and then almost immediately continued, "How do I get it out?".  Before I could answer she just continued playing and didn't really even wait for a response.  Amazing!  I hope she continues to ask questions like these!

Cookin' with Daddy

There are numerous moments between Merritt and Corbin I know I will always remember and cherish as she grows older.  One of them is time spent cooking as seen in the picture here.  Corbin has made at least 10 batches (not kidding) of Rice Krispie Treats, mainly the peanut butter and chocolate variety.  Merritt loves doing this with him and I pray they continue to spend these priceless moments together.

I also love this photo because it shows several things that are "very Merritt".  For example, please note she is wearing a pink headband and shirt and that the shirt has several princesses on it.  All very Merritt.

Molly has a few signature dance moves, one of which is demonstrated below.

A Couple More Photos

Sweet girls!

Visit with Andrew

Our old friend and neighbor, Andrew, was recently in town from North Carolina to visit with some of his friends and take pictures of the girls.  Below are two taken at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.  Merritt had pictures taken in front of the same barn when she was about 18 months old.  My how time flies!

Casey Basey

As of late, Merritt has found numerous names for Casey, our ten-year-old chocolate lab.  Corbin often calls her "Casey Basey".  Merritt's current favorite, however, has been "Bubba Girl Casey, The Best Dog God Gave To Me".  No idea where she got that!

Walking Stick

Merritt saw this walking stick while we were inside the house! She was very pleased with her discovery!

No Idea What I'm Doing...

Okay, so I have no idea what I'm doing, but I thought I would give "blogging" another shot. I started a blog for Merritt in 2008 and now we also have little Molly. Actually, I can't really say that any longer since she just turned one on Saturday. My how time flies when you have a second child, or at least that has been my experience.

So, here I go again. I hope to use this blog to make a diary of those instances in the girls' lives that I know I will forget if I don't put them in a baby book or here.

I guess I should start with THE CAKE. Like her sister, Molly wasn't sure what to do with her smash cake. Merritt even tried to help her out!
